Cradle of Egypt puts you in charge of building nothing less than an entire ancient Egyptian city. Starting as a humble farmer, your goal is to rise, through 100 game levels divided into five stages, to the exalted rank of Pharaoh.
Cradle of Egypt offers smooth, easy-to-learn gameplay that becomes increasingly complex as you delve deeper into the game. Beautiful Egyptian-themed graphics and music make Cradle of Egypt almost as much fun to watch as it is to play.
How to Play
Each level presents you with a board divided into squares. The squares are filled with symbols, and your job is to form rows of three or more, horizontally or vertically, by switching two symbols at a time. Do that and the symbols vanish and others drop into their place, hopefully setting off a chain reaction and giving you points and supplies for the building portion of the game.
Some squares on the board have blue marble backings, which break when the symbol on them is matched. When all the blue marbles have been broken, the level ends.
Bonuses are given for matching four, five, or more symbols at once, or for matching the same symbol repeatedly.
Cradle of Egypt has many secret bonuses and power-ups for the dedicated player to discover. You can earn arrows that blow up all the squares in a certain direction, treasure chests that increase your rewards, and even special citizens to add to your city.
Between levels, you can use the gold, food, building supplies, and other items you won to improve your Egyptian settlement. Buying plans for a particular building sends you to one of a variety of minigames to unlock it, although these can easily be skipped if you just want to go straight to construction.
Your city will start with just a single riverside farm, but by the time you advance to the last stage of the game, you'll be working to build such great monuments as the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.
Adventure Mode: This is the regular game. It can be played in Timed mode or Relaxed mode, which has no timer.
Tourney Mode: You can take a level you've completed in Adventure mode and race the clock to complete it again, earning trophies, statues, and medals to add to your city if you succeed.
Blitz Mode: Once you've completed Adventure Mode you can play Blitz Mode, in which you see how many levels you can complete before the clock runs down.
