Bold Graphics

In games with jewels, we dig the shiny. Great gameplay is important, but the treasure must glitter! In Jewel Match 3, all of the jewels are rendered to be absolutely lovely. It's eye candy to match them up! Jewels aside, the rest of the graphics in the game deliver as well. The colors are fantastic and the textures superb. Also, the graphics in the cut scenes are well done as well, and lend a medieval fairytale flavor to the entire game. Very immersive and enjoyable.

It Actually Has a Plot!

If Bejeweled has a plot, we can't remember it. One other match 3 style game that had a plot comes to mind, but since the story consisted of rotting a living toothman with candy, it probably doesn't count as an actual plot. In this game, you are given a goal-based reason to play through the puzzles. You're saving a kingdom from the clutches of evil! This goal driven storyline makes the game one of the most addictive match 3 games you'll ever play.

Other Puzzles Pop Up -- Surprise, Surprise!

Life rarely works in a prescribed 'lather, rinse, repeat' manner, so why should all video games work that way? This game will present other puzzles to you at times when all you're really expecting is another round of jewel matching, making the game a lot more fun. Usually after the hidden object or picture puzzle mini game the player will walk away with something awesome to use in the next matching round. Nice.

Appeals to Any Age

Anyone from 5 to 105 could find something to like about this game. The game is well done and engaging enough that those who don't normally prefer puzzle games will be tempted to play this one through to completion.

Fun Boosts

Nailing annoying puzzle sections with a massive hammer is too fun! There is a cost to using power ups, but they keep the gameplay moving and are a worthwhile thing to have in the game.

Rebuild the Kingdom

When you have earned some money, why not rebuild the kingdom? It's easy enough to do, and it further adds to the addictive quality of the game. It's easy to justify playing 'one last round' for the 10th time when you're so close to finishing that castle.
