Free Mac Racing Game

Choose From a Variety of Great Characters

Why yes, that is the Mozilla dinosaur! Many of the characters for Super Tux Kart were borrowed from applications that are popular in the Linux community such as the GIMP dog, the purple Pidgin pigeon, the Mozilla T-Rex and the FreeBSD daemon named Beastie. Adding the Firefox mascot would officially make this collection complete.

Nice Selection of Courses

Wouldn't you expect a free game to have fewer courses? Not this one! A whopping 20+ tracks are available or unlockable, giving this racing game some serious replay power. The courses are unique and fun to race, keeping the game enjoyable through variation.

Local Multiplayer Mode

Feeling social? It's possible to have multiple people play with you on one computer with the split screen feature. Split screen multiplayer used to only be an option with console gameplay, but with Super Tux Kart everyone can enjoy playing together whether they have a console or not.

Unique Power Ups

Would you like to use a plunger to pull yourself up to the position of an opponent? How about nailing an opponent with a bowling ball or bubblegum? These power ups are both fun and effective if used skillfully.

Have your friends yelling in anger as you pull them backward and yourself forward using a plunger and a rubber band. And of course, let them eat cake!

For all the hard work and dedication that went into making a game of this caliber you might be expecting to pay a decent price for it, but Super Tux Kart was released under an open source license and is free to download, use and share as many times as you want.

Super Tux Racing is a labor of love for the development team that works on it, and as such it has a higher level of quality.

Super Tux Kart is well worth downloading for anyone with a graphics card. Excellent graphics, engaging gameplay, imaginative courses and power ups make this game worthwhile. A very fun experience!
